Introducing the New Nano Cruising Logo: A Fresh Look for Our Adventure-Driven Community

Hello Nano Cruising Enthusiasts!

We are thrilled to unveil our brand-new logo, designed to better reflect the spirit and passion of the Nano Cruising community. Our previous logo served us well, but as our podcast and community have grown, we felt it was time for a fresh, professional look that truly captures the essence of what we’re all about.

Why the Change?

The original logo was a quick creation, meant to get us started on our journey. However, as we’ve evolved and connected with so many of you, it became clear that we needed a design that represented the vibrant and adventurous nature of our community more accurately. We wanted something that conveys professionalism while still being fun and engaging.

New Features of the Logo

Our new logo brings several key improvements:

  • Clearer Branding: The new design offers a more distinct and recognizable visual identity, making it easier for people to identify Nano Cruising.
  • Better First Impression: The professional design makes a strong initial impact, reflecting the quality and dedication we put into our content.
  • Strengthened Message: The elements of the new logo better convey our mission and values, emphasizing our commitment to the small boat cruising lifestyle.

The Design Process

To achieve this, we hired a professional designer who took the time to understand our vision and the message we wanted to convey. We discussed the elements that make Nano Cruising special – the sense of adventure, the love for small boat cruising, and the strong, supportive community we’ve built together.

What’s New?

Our new logo features an easier to read and clear font, and a solo sailor in a dinghy boat sailing, symbolizing the spirit of independence and adventure that defines NanoCruising. The design captures the essence of our community – passionate about small boats and the thrill of exploration.

A Reflection of Our Values

This new logo is more than just a visual update; it’s a reflection of our commitment to bringing you high-quality content, fostering a vibrant community, and celebrating the incredible world of dinghy cruising. It encapsulates our mission to inspire, educate, and entertain, all while keeping the sense of fun and adventure at the forefront.

Thank You!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our designer for their incredible work, and to all of you, our amazing listeners and community members, for your continued support. We hope you love the new look as much as we do and feel a renewed sense of excitement for the future of Nano Cruising.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on the new logo! Feel free to share your feedback in the comments or on our social media channels.

If you enjoyed Part 1 of our conversation with legendary boat designer John Welsford , you’re going to love what’s in store for Part 2. In this episode, John takes us further into his world of small boat innovation and adventure. We kick things off with a look at the new 7-meter ocean-going boat he’s currently designing—something he hasn’t talked much about publicly until now. It’s a boat meant to cross oceans with confidence, while still staying true to Welsford’s core design philosophy: safety, practicality, simplicity, and real-world performance. From there, we dig into the story behind his new design “Scallywag,” which was born out of a desire for a microcruiser like the SCAMP—but with accommodations for longer journeys and sleep-aboard comfort. It’s a design many have been waiting for, and it reflects the continued evolution of small cruising sailboats. John also shares some fantastic anecdotes about his designs out in the wild. We hear about a SCAMP in Tierra del Fuego , and...
